A high-clearance swing-away spare tire carrier with an integrated secondary receiver, designed for larger vehicles, oversized tires, and maximum rear cargo access.

The Wilco Offroad HitchGate Solo High-Clearance with Secondary Cargo Hitch combines the lightweight design of the Solo platform with additional vehicle clearance and the versatility of an integrated swing-away cargo receiver. Designed for overland rigs, full-size trucks, SUVs, and adventure vehicles, this system securely carries a spare tire while allowing you to mount compatible bike racks, cargo carriers, and other hitch-mounted accessories.

The High-Clearance version is Wilco's most popular Solo configuration thanks to its elevated mounting position and broader vehicle compatibility. It is ideal for vehicles that require additional clearance between the hitch receiver and rear hatch or tailgate while still providing excellent departure angles for off-road travel.

With a simple pull of the latch pin, the entire assembly swings open up to 160 degrees, allowing unrestricted access to your cargo area without removing your spare tire or hitch-mounted gear.

  • Minimum 4.5" clearance required from the hitch pin hole toward the front of the vehicle for proper Wedge Lock engagement.
  • Receiver face should be flush with the rear bumper or recessed no more than 1.5".
  • Requires at least 7" of clearance from the hitch receiver to the bottom of the rear hatch or tailgate.
  • Dually wheel applications require a wheel spacer.

  • If your tire and wheel combination approaches the 150 lb carrier limit, additional accessories may not be recommended.
  • Some vehicles may require exhaust or receiver modifications for proper installation.

Maintenance Requirements

  • Periodically tighten the pivot bolt to 60–70 ft-lbs.
  • Apply grease to the pivot shaft periodically, especially in wet or snowy environments.
  • Inspect Delrin washers and T-handle bushings for wear.
  • Replace wear components as necessary to maintain smooth operation.
