The Wilco Offroad HitchGate Switch Low Profile delivers the versatility of the Switch platform in a lower-profile configuration designed for vehicles where the hitch receiver sits closer to the rear bumper or cargo door. Built to carry up to a 37-inch spare tire on full-size trucks and up to a 35-inch tire on many midsize vehicles, the Switch combines spare tire storage, cargo carrying capability, and full rear vehicle access in a single system.

Unlike fixed-position tire carriers, the HitchGate Switch features an adjustable wheel mounting plate that allows you to move the tire closer to or farther from the vehicle depending on wheel offset, tire size, and accessory configuration. The integrated secondary cargo receiver allows you to carry compatible bike racks, cargo baskets, and other hitch-mounted accessories while maintaining convenient rear cargo access.

A single latch release swings the carrier open up to 160 degrees, while the integrated bolt-action lock pin secures the arm in the open position when parked on uneven terrain or at camp.

Fitment Requirements

• Minimum 4.5" clearance required from the hitch pin hole toward the front of the vehicle for proper Wedge Lock engagement.
• Receiver face should be flush with the rear bumper or recessed no more than 1.5".
• Requires at least 3" of clearance from the hitch receiver to the bottom of the rear door or tailgate.
• Some vehicles may require spare tire relocation or exhaust modifications for proper fitment.

Load Capacity Guidelines

• Loads within 3 feet (18" from hitch to load center) support up to 250 lbs.
• Loads extending beyond 4 feet (24" from hitch to load center) should not exceed 150 lbs.
• Always remain within vehicle towing and tongue-weight ratings.

Maintenance Requirements

• Periodically tighten the pivot bolt to 60–70 ft-lbs.
• Apply grease to the pivot shaft periodically, especially in wet or snowy climates.
• Inspect Delrin washers and T-handle bushings regularly.
