It uses multi-stage DC-DC charging for optimum levels and features an additional SoftStart stage for demanding applications. With a Maximum Power Point Tracking solar regulator, it charges from both solar and the alternator simultaneously, prioritizing solar charging to reduce alternator load.
Suitable for 12 or 24-volt vehicle systems, the unit works with standard or variable/smart alternators and is compatible with various battery types, including AGM, Gel, standard lead acid, Calcium, and LiFeP04. For battery bank sizes over 200AH, the BCDC1250D is recommended; for smaller batteries of 75-200AH, the BCDC1225D is suggested.
