The Diode Dynamics HitchMount Reverse Kit is the easiest way to add high-output lighting to the rear of your vehicle. Designed to fit into any standard 2" or 2.5" hitch receiver, this kit transforms your unused receiver into a powerful lighting upgrade. Whether you're backing up in the dark, looking for added visibility, or enhancing safety, this kit delivers major lighting performance with minimal effort.
When installed, the LED pod operates as an additional red running light, a high-output reverse light, and with the C1R version, a 4th brake light with SafetyStrobe functionality for added awareness on the road.
Brighter Reverse Lighting
The factory reverse bulbs on most vehicles are weak and ineffective. This kit adds a reverse light several times brighter, using Diode Dynamics’ patented TIR optics paired with high-power LEDs. The C1R version now delivers 68% more output than previous generations—activating automatically when the vehicle is placed in reverse.
Red Running & Optional Brake Light
The LED pod features a unique red backlight that illuminates with your running lights, providing a distinct, modern rear signature. If you choose the C1R version, it also acts as a powerful 4th brake light that activates with your brake pedal—and includes the SafetyStrobe feature that flashes three times upon braking for greater visibility. (Strobe can be disabled.)
Simple 5-Minute Installation
No need for wiring modifications, drilling, or hitch pins. The snap-fit mount inserts directly into your trailer hitch and snaps securely into place. Installation takes less than five minutes, and the included DT connector cover protects your wiring when the HitchMount is removed.
Want to use a locking hitch pin instead? The kit supports quick modification to do so.
Functional Optics & Patterns
Traditional reflectors lose light and create glare. Diode Dynamics uses custom-engineered TIR (Total Internal Reflection) optics that serve as both lens and reflector. This delivers better efficiency and beam precision. The flood beam pattern offers a uniform 50x50 degree spread, ideal for reversing or utility use.

Compatibility & Fitment
This kit is compatible with vehicles that have 7-pin trailer connectors. If your trailer connector is not 7-pin, minor modification is required. For vehicles with advanced trailer safety systems, a red wire is included to tap into the taillight brake signal if needed.
