Expedition Superstore invites you to  join us and our great friends at Western Overland Adventures for an Overland Trail Ride!

Join us on a Scenic Trail Ride  as we head  to the north slope of the Uinta Mountains!

Saturday - Sunday, July 29th - 30th 2023

 ALL THE DETAILS

DESTINATION: We’re headed to the north slope of the Uinta Mountains, the highest mountain range in the lower 48, and the only range that runs East to West. We will travel approximately 100 dirt miles and reach up above 10,000 feet where you’ll breathe in the crisp, clean air, find thick pine forests, lots of crystal-clear alpine lakes, and an occasional old loggers cabin. The Uintas are also packed with wildlife. Moose, deer, elk, mountain goat and black bears inhabit the area. We’ll camp one star-filled night with a cozy campfire and you’ll need a warm jacket.

WHO: Anyone and everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned traveler or someone just getting into exploring Utah’s backcountry we encourage you to come out.

MEETUP: 9am Saturday 29th July at South Summit High School, 45 S 300 E, Kamas, UT 84036.

FINISH POINT: approximately 6pm Sunday 30th July at Dowd Mountain Overlook near Flaming Gorge.

TRAIL DIFFICULTY: It is rated '2' on Western Overland Adventurer's Trail Difficulty scale.

· There must be seatbelts for all passengers.

· Vehicles must be in good mechanical repair with working headlights, taillights, turn signals, brakes, etc. Vehicles cannot be leaking any fluids.

· Vehicles must be of a high clearance type with a 4WD High/Low-Range selectable transfer case.

· A minimum of 31” all-terrain or mud terrain tires with a full size spare**

· Hard mounted vehicle recovery points on frame or bumpers.

*A tech inspection will happen before each tour and if any mechanical issues are found, you will not be allowed on the tour and no refund will be given. Please address any issues prior to arrival.

**We know that tire size does not equate vehicle capability, but we have to set a baseline. If you feel that your driving experience and vehicle (IE 10+ years and a Samurai on 29” tires) deserve special consideration, please contact us if you have questions about this before registering for this tour.

Communications: We will be using GMRS radios on the trail to communicate. If you have one, please bring it and enjoy some witty banter along with the scenery.

Other Gear: A camera to document the fun, a camp chair to relax in, a hat to keep your head in the shade, sunglasses so you look cool; and whatever else you’d like to bring to make the trip enjoyable!
